Accomplishments
Among the extensive list of safely completed projects, there are a number of projects qualifying as major accomplishments due to an extreme level of difficulty, a significantly compressed schedule, or a high recovery volume requirement.
Automotive Assembly Plant - 2001
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
This project involved mechanically stripping-out process equipment, utility lines and structures from approximately 2 million square feet in just 4 weeks. Over 200 loads of equipment were salvaged, packaged and shipped for reuse in other facilities. In addition to the removal work, AED was also responsible for the environmental remediation work. This work consisted of draining and cleaning pipes, pits, sumps, trenches, and also included the decontamination of sludge plenums in the Paint Shop. |

Automotive Assembly Plant - 1997-1999
Sleepy Hollow, New York
AED first performed the asbestos abatement work consisting of 1.5 million square feet of buildings. AED then performed the environmental work of cleaning and properly disposing of the lead, PCB’s, Mercury, CFCs and contaminated soil, all of which were required prior to the total dismantlement of this 90-Acre Industrial Facility. The entire facility including buildings, structures, equipment, railroad tracks, utility services and stacks were removed.
Integrated Steel Plant – 1992-1999
Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania
AED decommissioned the entire hot and primary end of the integrated steel plant. AED had total responsibility of demolition, utility relocation, asbestos abatement, hazardous material management, foundations and equipment sales. |

Steel Plant - 2003

AED was called upon to remove a Sinter Duct. This project involved a very tight work schedule performed during a plant shutdown. |
